UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A man was arrested in Union County after investigators say he failed to show up for a court date related to a murder charge.

Lashawn Jarrett, 41, had a scheduled court date on Nov. 3 in Horry County, South Carolina. Jarrett is facing charges of murder and assault, among other charges.

Jarrett, who lived in Monroe when he was arrested for a deadly Myrtle Beach shooting in March 2022, was located by deputies on Monday, Nov. 17, in Union County.

Police say Jarrett shot Rhonda Harris on March 1, 2022, in Myrtle Beach. The shooting happened after an altercation between Jarrett and Harris in a vehicle. Harris later died from her injuries.
