ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A jury in the case of "Buffalo Five" member Darryl Boyd, who was wrongfully convicted of murder in 1976, has awarded his estate $80M.
If the verdict is not appealed by Erie County, it will be the largest wrongful conviction compensation in U.S. History. The trial was held in the U.S. District Court of the Western District in Rochester.
According to attorney Ross Firsenbaum, the jury deliberated for an hour before delivering the $80M verdict for the Boyd estate.
