The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced a change to its semiannual general conference schedule starting next year.

The First Presidency of the church — the faith’s top leaders — said in a brief statement Wednesday that it “has decided that beginning in April 2026, general conference will no longer include a Saturday evening session.”

Held in the first weekend of April and October, the general conference is a two-day event that has traditionally consisted of five two-hour sessions, three on Saturday and two on Sunday. It is a time when Latter-day Saints gather to hear sermons and instruction from various high-level church leaders.
