ROYAL CITY, Wash. – A 37-year-old man was injured in a crash when the telehandler he was driving lost its brakes and crashed with an apple orchard around 12 p.m. on Wednesday.

The incident occurred near Road 13-Southeast and Road B-Southeast in rural Royal City, Grant County Sheriff's Office said in a release .

Royal Slope Fire-Rescue-EMS responded to the scene and treated the man before he was transported by air ambulance to a Tri-Cities hospital.

The man's current medical condition is unknown.
