BOWLING GREEN — A late rally by the Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team came up just short in an 82-74 home loss against William & Mary on Wednesday at the Stroh Center.
The Falcons trailed 41-26 at halftime and by as many as 16 points in the second half.
A Chase Lowe three-point play gave William & Mary (3-2) a 56-41 advantage with under 13 minutes to play, but BGSU (3-2) responded. The hosts orchestrated a 12-2 run over the next 2:17, that included six points from Justin Thomas, bringing the Falcons within 58-53 with 10:28 remaining.
However, the Tribe regrouped and followed with a 15-4 burst over the next 6:36.
Bowling Green’s last gasp was aided by a pair of 3-pointers from Mayar Wol and Javon Ruffin as it got as close as six (75-69) with under a minute to go. Will
