DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A Davenport man was sentenced Wednesday on federal gun charges.

Rodolfo Tellez Gutierrez, 23, was sentenced to a year and a half in federal prison for throwing a gun out of the window of a vehicle during a traffic stop, according to court documents.

Officials reviewed Gutierrez’s phone and found texts between him and the buyer of the gun, court documents showed.

After completing his prison sentence, Gutierrez will be required to serve a three year term of supervised release. There is no prole in the federal system.
