KEWANEE, Ill. (KWQC) - Two Michigan men police say are suspected in Walmart thefts in several states were arrested in Kewanee on Wednesday.

Kewanee police officers went to a Walmart in the 700 block of Tenney Street for a reported in-progress retail theft around 1 p.m., according to a media release.

Employees reported a man in the electronics section matched the description of a known theft suspect, police said.

Officers got to the store and found the man, who police said ran out of the store and into a sedan, which was being driven by another suspect, waiting in the parking lot.

Police said a brief chase started when the suspects drove north on Tenney Street but it was ended for public safety.

The sedan later crashed in the 600 block of North Main Street and police said both suspects
