A traffic collision Wednesday night on a highway northeast of Houston reportedly hospitalized two of the Buddhist monks on a 2,000-mile “Walk for Peace,” according to multiple news reports.
The Dayton Volunteer Fire Department wrote on Facebook that its crews were responding to an auto-pedestrian crash at U.S. 90 at Tollway 99 in Liberty County.
Though the fire department’s post makes no reference to the monks, video from the scene and multiple news outlets indicate the crash involved the group of nearly two dozen Buddhist monks currently trekking from Fort Worth to Washington, D.C.
