TEXARKANA, Arkansas (KSLA) - Following the bond election, major street and drainage projects will be kicking off in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Major street and drainage projects are on the way in Texarkana, Arkansas, after voters approved a Street and Drainage bond election on Tuesday.

“I’m pleased that the citizens understood the urgency for us to get this bond issue passed. This is going to bode well for us in the future of the city,” says Allen Brown, mayor of Texarkana, Arkansas

Texarkana, Arkansas, Mayor Allen Brown said his city has operated under severe funding limitations over the past several years, and this is needed to get the necessary revenue to make the improvements.

“Without that influx of revenue, the streets and drainage problem will continue to get worse,” says Brown.
