NEW DELHI: Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai has reaffirmed the vital role of immigrants in the growth of the United States technology sector, calling their contribution “phenomenal” at a time when the H-1B visa system is at the centre of renewed political debate. In an interview with the BBC, Pichai said, "If you look at the history of technology development, the contribution of immigrants to the sector has been nothing but phenomenal."
