DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — A heavy police presence on Lakewood Drive in Douglasville Friday night sparked concern across the neighborhood which sits right next to Arbor Place Mall.

After days with no explanation, police released their first update Wednesday, revealing a murder-suicide inside a home and confirming that an officer also fired his weapon during the response.

Police said it all began just before 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 14, when an officer responded to a disturbance call at in the 6700 block of Lakewood Drive.
