SNOQUALMIE, Wash. — More than a year and a half after a devastating fire destroyed multiple businesses in downtown Snoqualmie, the final shop welcomed customers back Wednesday, marking the completion of the community's long recovery.
Snoqualmie Ice Cream celebrated its grand reopening on Railroad Avenue, bringing co-owners Julie Chung and Heather Dean back to the street where their business once stood.
"It honestly feels like we're home," Chung said.
The April 2024 fire wiped out Snoqualmie Ice Cream along with three other small businesses that shared the space in the downtown area. For Chung and Dean, the path forward was paved by community support as they moved to a temporary location.
