A university boss from South Australia has walked away from her role following weeks of backlash over comments made about staff working from home.
Adelaide University Deputy Vice Chancellor Paula Ward, who oversaw human resources, claimed those who worked from home on Friday and Monday were getting “four-day weekends”.
In late October, Ms Ward addressed about 1000 staff members during a 'town hall' meeting regarding work-from-home measures.
She outlined the push for stricter guidelines to be introduced.
The Advertiser reported university staff were left outraged – with many describing the remarks as “disgraceful”.
Staff members reportedly raised further concerns over her comments in a second town hall meeting last week – where Ms Ward wasn’t in attendance.
