Four Sarasota area hospitals earn A's on national safety rankings

Four Sarasota area hospitals earned “A” grades in the Fall 2025 Health Safety Grades, released Nov. 11 by The Leapfrog Group.

Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s Sarasota and Venice campuses and the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center all maintained their “A” grades, while HCA Florida Englewood Hospital reclaimed its “A” status after two straight “B” rankings.

HCA Florida Doctors Hospital dropped from an “A” to a “B” after a string of six consecutive A grades.
