It's Day One for CM Nitish Kumar and his council of ministers, and also for all the opposition MLAs not part of the government. But it is equally Day One for Jan Suraaj and its founder, Prashant Kishor (PK), who is observing a day of silence some 250 km northwest of Patna's Gandhi Maidan, where the air was filled with the noise of celebration, speeches, and political fanfare.

While the NDA government of CM Nitish Kumar took oath in front of a massive gathering at Patna's historic Gandhi Maidan, PK chose the Bhitiharwa Gandhi Ashram in West Champaran, a place where MK Gandhi started the Indigo Satyagraha in 1917 , for a fast and quiet reflection, which he said symbolised "moral accountability" and the "resolve to hold the ruling government of Nitish Kumar to its promises".
