GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - There’s a new warning about toys that could be riskier than you think.

We’re talking about toys that contain AI chatbots.

Researchers with the U.S. Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) Education Fund tested four toys that use artificial intelligence to interact with kids.

Sales of one, Kumma Teddy, have now been suspended.

Manufacturer responds to safety concerns

Researchers found the cute plush teddy bear discussed sexually explicit and dangerous content with kids, including how to light a match.

The bear, which sold for $99 online, used OpenAI’s chatbot.

The manufacturer has taken all of its AI-enabled toys off the market for a safety audit, while OpenAI says it suspended the developer’s account for violating company policies.
