In November 2025, the President of Janata Dal (United) JD(U) party, Nitish Kumar officially sworn-in as the Chief Minister (CM) of Bihar for a record 10th time, after his party and its alliance partners under BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won the 2025 Bihar state assembly elections.
Later, he was unanimously elected as leader of both the JD(U) legislature party and NDA legislature party.
With this, Kumar continues to be one of the longest-serving CMs in India as he has been in power for nearly 2 decades, except a brief 9-month gap in 2014-15.
