FAYETTEVILLE -- Coach John Calipari blamed himself a week ago for his team inability to sustain a late 15-point lead and run down the clock against Samford during a 79-75 win last Friday.
Calipari took responsibility again Tuesday for weaker rebounding, fewer assisted baskets and lapses in defense during a second nail-biting win at Walton Arena, a 84-83 victory over Winthrop.
The No. 21 University of Arkansas men's basketball team trailed 83-78 with 1:26 left in the second half before the Hogs pieced together a 6-0 run in the final 1:13 to avoid an upset. Winthrop outrebounded 8-7 Arkansas on the offensive glass and shot 48.4% (15 for 31) on three-point attempts.
The Razorbacks (4-1) are a week away from facing No. 5 Duke on Thanksgiving night in Chicago.
