CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A dozen apartment units were damaged after a large fire broke out in south Charlotte early Thursday morning.
The Nov. 20 blaze was sparked just before 3 a.m., along at the River Crossing apartments.
Battalion Chief John Lipcsak of the said extra resources had to be called in twice, and at one point, 75 firefighters were helping to fight the flames.
Video shared by firefighters showed tall flames coming from the roof of the apartment building. During the firefight, the battalion chief said crews had to come outside the apartments for just a short time.
Lipcsak said it took just under one hour to control the fire, and that crews would stay at the complex throughout the morning to put out any potential hotspots.
