On Wednesday, President Donald Trump officially signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act , which mandates the US Department of Justice to release all files related to the investigations into the Jeffrey Epstein case , including information about his death in federal custody, within 30 days.

TRUMP'S U-TURN

Initially opposed to releasing the documents, Trump agreed to release the Epstein files primarily due to mounting political pressure and a likely impending vote in Congress that he would have lost.

He publicly stated that there was “nothing to hide,” framing it as a transparency effort.

Trump's decision appears partly strategic, as delaying or blocking the release could have hurt him politically, especially after many Republicans indicated they would vote in favour of releasing
