Patrick Mahomes responded after Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid called out his decision-making in the team’s loss to the Denver Broncos.

“I’m just not making the throws,” Mahomes, 30, told reporters on Wednesday, November 19. “Pretty much the biggest thing. Guys are getting open and giving me chances to make the plays down the field.”

According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Mahomes is just 17-for-48 on throws of 20 or more yards this season.

“Being better there and giving guys chances, it usually works out,” Mahomes continued. “You hit one deep throw and all of a sudden the offense opens up and then you’re able to hit other throws as well. I think we’ve always done a really good job of being able to take what’s there. It’s just about hitting some of those deeper throws to loosen
