Lawyers have always been a target for negativity, so much so that the rhetoric even permeated classic literature.
In his play, “Henry VI,” William Shakespeare wrote, “Let’s kill all the lawyers.” Similarly, Mark Twain wrote negatively about the legal system and lawyers throughout his works.
With a legacy like that, how can lawyers ensure that clients have trust in them as individuals and in the legal system?
It’s all about communication, Ryan Fisher, managing partner at Lowe Trial Lawyers in Mayfield Heights, in its 50th year in Cleveland, said.
He often calls clients to check in, even if there has been no movement on their case. He likes to talk to them by phone and meet in person when possible.
