Mangaluru, Nov 20: The menace of “lucky schemes” has been increasing in Surathkal, Katipalla and Krishnapura areas, with several such schemes already shutting shop after allegedly cheating customers of crores of rupees.
A new company has now joined the list. The firm had reportedly collected monthly instalments of thousands of rupees from customers, promising attractive offers. However, it neither delivered the promised benefits nor refunded the money, leading to growing public anger.
On Thursday, November 20 morning, aggrieved customers laid siege to the company’s office in Krishnapura and staged a protest.
