PLAIN TWP. ‒ A man and a woman died from gunshot wounds on Nov. 19 in what authorities are describing as an apparent murder-suicide at their home.
Tamara "Tammy" Wilkes, a death investigator for the Stark County Coroner's Office, said the woman, 82, appeared to have been the victim, and the man, 84, appeared to have been the shooter.
The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
Deputies were called to a home on Sharonwood Avenue NW around 8:45 p.m., according to a statement from the Sheriff's Office. They found the married couple dead.
"Preliminary findings suggest the incident may have been a murder-suicide; however, the investigation is ongoing," the Stark County Sheriff's Office said. "There is no threat to the public, as investigators believe this was an isolated event."
