QUEBEC — The ousted chief of staff for the Quebec Liberals has fired back at her former boss, Saint-Laurent MNA Marwah Rizqy, with a legal letter over her dismissal and calling on the politician to publicly retract herself within 24 hours.

Lawyers acting for Geneviève Hinse slapped Rizqy with a legal warning letter, known as a mise en demure, on Wednesday in which they call on Rizqy to admit in public the “absence of justified motive” for the firing.

The letter warns that failure to do could result in Rizqy being sued by Hinse, a close associate of Quebec Liberal Leader Pablo Rodriguez.

Rizqy, at the time Liberal parliamentary leader at the National Assembly, fired Hinse on Monday. Hinse says she was fired without explanation.
