New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd shared an update on his recovery after being shot in Manhattan early Sunday morning.
“I’m sorry, I have no words at the moment..Just grateful!,” Boyd wrote in an Instagram story posted Wednesday, along with a picture of him in his hospital bed. “I’m coming along, starting to breathe on my own now. Sincerely appreciate everyone!”
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said he spoke to Boyd on Sunday, and that the seven-year NFL veteran has been on his mind “a ton” this week.
“Once I heard about the situation … the first thing I thought about was, he just had a kid,” Glenn told reporters on Wednesday. “I’m thinking about his wife. I’m thinking about his kid. And I wanted to make sure that he’s okay. And that’s the only thing that really went through my mind.
