Gary “Mani” Mounfield, the soulful and steady-fingered bassist of The Stone Roses whose grooves helped define the sound of the Madchester era, has passed away, aged 63. ‌

Born on 16 November 1962 in Crumpsall, Manchester, Mani’s career spanned decades, and his influence stretched far beyond the iconic anthems he powered through. ‌
