DAYTON, Texas (KWTX) - Several monks, along with their escort driver, were injured in an accident during a ‘Walk For Peace’ journey in Dayton, Texas, along U.S. 90 on November 19, 2025.

The Walk For Peace team says that an accident occurred at around 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

“At this time, we know that some monks and their escorted driver sustained injuries; however, we are still in the process of receiving verified updates regarding their medical conditions,” the Walk For Peace team said.

Local authorities and emergency responders quickly arrived on scene and the monks were taken to the nearest hospital.
