A woman was killed in a hit-and-run while she was walking on a Birmingham interstate early Thursday morning.

It happened a few minutes after midnight in the southbound lanes of Interstate 59/20 near Arkadelphia Road, according to the coroner.

She was identified as Keiteria Almanique Anderson, 27, of Birmingham.

The vehicle that struck her left the scene after the collision.

Birmingham police are investigating the death.
