Fire crews were called after a blaze broke out at a takeaway in Hartlepool. Cleveland Fire Brigade was called at around 7.30pm on Wednesday to Murray's Fried and Grill Chicken on Murray Street.
Three fire engines attended the incident close to the town centre. It is believed the shop only opened in early November.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Cleveland Fire Brigade were called on Novemnber 19 at 7.23pm to an incident on Murray Street, Hartlepool . Three fire engines in attendance from Hartlepool, Headland and Billingham ."
Crews remained at the scene until just before 7.50pm. Teesside Live has attempted to contact the business.
