The homelessness crisis, security, cleanliness and continuing the city’s ecological transition: new Montreal Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada addressed the “urgent and pressing” issues facing the city during her administration’s first executive committee meeting Thursday.
“The expectations placed on us are very high, and the challenges are enormous,” Martinez Ferrada said during a brief address to close the meeting. “We need to tackle all of these issues.”
The meeting was held two days after Martinez Ferrada announced the executive committee’s new members this week, making a point to name elected officials from each party at city hall .
