SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter County deputies say one person was arrested after a dispute led to a shooting.

Deputies say around 2:39 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, they responded to a shooting incident on Laverne Avenue.

Upon arrival to the scene, deputies were able to locate the victim of a gunshot wound.

Law enforcement applied medical aid and requested Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

The victim was taken to Prisma Health Tuomey.

After a search for the suspect in the area, Thomas Mason Donlon was later located at a motel on Broad Street near Tryon Street and taken into custody.

Donlon is accused of shooting the victim after a dispute between the two.

He is being charged with attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
