SRINAGAR : Temporary employees of the PHE Mechanical division Sopore in North Kashmir held a protest on Thursday after six workers were allegedly disengaged by the Executive Engineer. Follow Us On G -N e w s | Whatsapp

Workers gathered at the office, raised slogans, demanding an immediate rollback of the decision and protection of their service.

Protestors referred to the March 11 Assembly session, where the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, had said that a committee would frame a plan for the regularisation of temporary employees.

They said no decision has been announced by the committee so far, and questioned the move to disengage workers at this stage.

Workers said they have served for more than two decades and are now being told to leave without any security. O
