RANDOLPH, Wis. — Both the Columbia and Sauk County Sheriff's Offices took a homicide suspect into custody Thursday morning, prompting nearby schools and residences to implement a temporary shelter-in-place order.
As a precaution at the start of the operation, neighboring homes and the Cambria-Friesland Schools were notified to shelter in place to ensure public safety, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
Several roads were closed for about an hour during the operation.
The homicide suspect was taken into custody at around 9 a.m., and law enforcement officials stated there is no danger to the community.
