TOLEDO, Ohio — A Maumee man has changed his plea to charges stemming from a May 29 crash that killed one person and injured another, according to court records filed Thursday.
Demond Dohbit, 33, was indicted in July on a third-degree felony count of aggravated vehicular homicide and a fourth-degree felony count of vehicular assault. He initially pleaded not guilty during his arraignment in August.
On Thursday during a pretrial hearing, Dohbit withdrew his plea of not guilty and instead pleaded guilty to both charges. Following the change of plea, he was found guilty of aggravated vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.
