Eagles' defensive tackle Jordan Davis has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week by the NFL for his Week 11 efforts, which helped him accomplish a unique milestone.
Davis earned the honors for recording three passes defensed in Philadelphia’s 16-9 victory over the Detroit Lions, which makes him the fourth defensive lineman to record at least three passes defensed in a game this season. Davis also recorded one tackle in the game and helped place an Eagles' defense that limited Detroit to three third-down conversions on 13 attempts and no fourth-down conversions on five attempts. Davis now has 34 total tackles, six pass defenses, and three sacks this season.
This is Davis’ first-career Defensive Player of the Week award, but it marks his second Player of the Week award this season after being named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week during Week 3 this season. That is where Davis has earned a unique milestone, as he has become just the fourth player in the last 20 seasons (2006-25) to win a Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week award in the same season, joining Antonio Cromartie (2007), Desmond King (2018), and Bryan McCann (2010) on the list.
