As Jerry Seinfeld returns to mid-Michigan, local diner prepares for possible ‘double dipper’

SAGINAW TWP, MI — Staff at Levi’s Food and Spirits are prepared if a double dipper shows up to dine there this weekend.

The Saginaw Township-based eatery in October 2022 resembled a scene from a famous 1990s sitcom when Jerry Seinfeld (the real-life comedian, not the character he played on his NBC series) showed up for breakfast there after a night spent in mid-Michigan.

The appearance was immortalized in a framed photo that still hangs on a wall inside Levi’s Food and Spirits. He ordered a vegetable omelet with hash browns and oatmeal.

“Everyone here still talks about that,” said Susan Rowbottom, owner of the restaurant at 5800 Brockway. “All the time.”

Now, Rowbottom said, staff are preparing for the possibility he could return.
