PALMETTO, FL. (WWSB) - This week, during Manatee County’s Farm City Week, students are participating in the Manatee County 4-H Ag Venture program.

Approximately two thousand students from Manatee County elementary schools are visiting the Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto to learn about farming.

The event offers students an opportunity to learn how agriculture shapes the Manatee community.

It provides students with opportunities to interact with local farmers, agricultural educators, and extension professionals through hands-on agricultural awareness lessons.

4-H Ag Venture members say the goal of the program is to help students develop an understanding of where their food comes from and the impact agriculture has on their daily lives.
