RAIFORD, Fla. ( WWSB ) — Florida is set to execute its 17th inmate of 2024 tonight, breaking the state record for total executions in a single year.
Richard Barry Randolph, 63, is scheduled to die by lethal injection at 6 p.m. at Florida State Prison in Raiford. Randolph was convicted of raping and fatally beating his former manager at a convenience store in Palatka in 1988.
The next Florida inmate scheduled to die is Mark Allen Gerald, with his execution set for December 9. Gerald has dropped all legal challenges in his case. He was found guilty in the 1989 murder of a woman in Bay County.
