A U.S. postal worker on Long Island is accused of trying to help a man escape from Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody earlier this month, according to a federal criminal complaint unsealed Thursday.

Tamara Mayorga-Wong faces one count of obstruction of a federal proceeding for helping an unidentified man briefly escape from the back of an ICE officer’s car in Westhampton on Nov. 5, according to the complaint.

Law enforcement officers arrested both Wong and the unidentified man soon after the man had briefly escaped. After Wong’s arrest, law enforcement officers drove her to a Southampton police station for processing, according to the complaint.
