SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A search is underway for a suspect after a brief chase ended in a crash involving a CHP vehicle in South Los Angeles.

The crash happened near 104th Street and Figueroa just before 3 a.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol. The pursuit only lasted a minute before the collision.

It's unclear why officers were chasing the driver, but the suspect ran away from the scene.

No injuries were reported and no additional details were available.
