BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio — Coming off back-to-back Southwestern Conference championships in boys basketball, Elyria has a big question entering this season: How does it replace all-time leading scorer Jayden Crutcher?
The answer is depth and defense.
Coach Brett Larrick also is stressing consistency.
“We talk about it a lot,” he said Wednesday after a four-team scrimmage at Brecksville-Broadview Heights. “Consistency, the focus at practice, you know, not kind of going through the motions. If we want to be better, if we want to achieve some, you know, further goals than what we had, you know, we got to bring it every day.”
The Pioneers, who reached the Division I district semifinals last season and finished 17-6, return second-leading scorer Kendyll Compton and guard Jermiah Daniels. For
