The lawyer for the stepmother of a Brevard County teenager who died on a cruise ship is asking a judge in her child custody case to block the release of more information about the case.
Anna Kepner, 18, died while on a Carnival cruise on Nov. 7. Court documents in the child custody case revealed that the stepmother's 16-year-old son is considered a suspect in her death.
The boy's biological father filed an emergency motion for a hearing, asking for custody of a younger sibling and to discuss the placement of the 16-year-old.
Documents said the boy was not in law enforcement custody, but also not staying with his immediate family.
During the hearing, the stepmother's lawyer asked the judge to restrict the release of such information.
