Officials have confirmed a fire occurred at a plant that serves as a major aluminum supplier for Ford.

According to Novelis, the fire that began at a plant in Oswego County, New York at 8:45 a.m. was contained on Thursday after multiple fire departments responded to the scene.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed. Everyone was safely evacuated, but this is the second fire at the plant in three months.

A fire in the hot mill caused significant damage to the plant on Sept. 17. Ford said previously it could lose up to $2 billion from that fire.

The plant supplies 40% of U.S. auto sheet aluminum. Ford is a major customer, using the product in the bodies of its F-Series pickup trucks and SUVs.
