WASHINGTON — A man who pointed a gun at and threatened to kill a family he knew on a Metrobus in March will spend 5 years in prison, a judge said Wednesday.

Ricardo Rush, 29, pleaded guilty in June to unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon, assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence or dangerous offense. U.S. District Judge Amir Ali sentenced Rush to five years in prison and three years of probation after his release.

Surveillance cameras on the bus caught the whole incident on video, court documents revealed.

Rush got on a Metrobus at 332 Ridge Road SE at 11:26 a.m. March 8 with an unknown person. He walked to the back of the bus, where he sat down. Minutes later, a man, a woman and two children boarded the bus at 4809
