The Boston Red Sox made the postseason this year, but now Alex Bregman is a free agent. The Red Sox are reportedly interested in bringing him back, but he will have plenty of suitors.
It’s fair that many teams would want Bregman. He had a resurgent season and was a huge part of the Red Sox’s success. He was named an All-Star and would be a great addition for any team. However, one American League East team is not expected to pursue the veteran third baseman, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon.
“Stocked with infielders, the (Baltimore) Orioles are not expected to pursue Bregman,” The Athletic wrote on Thursday.
The Red Sox have the inside track to sign Bregman after having him on the team all of last season. He is beloved in the clubhouse and has spoken highly of
