DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — Danville Police are investigating after a man was found dead next to a creek Wednesday afternoon.

Police responded just before 4:30 p.m. to a report of a man down and unresponsive in the 400 block of East Williams Street near Stoney Creek.

Officers found a 45-year-old Danville man lying next to the creek when they arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.

According to Danville Police, there are no obvious signs of trauma or foul play.

The death is still under investigation as police await an autopsy report to determine the cause of death.
