THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Murajapam, a six-yearly ritual at Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, has begun. The ceremony started with a Ganapati Homam performed by Tantri Tharananellur Satheeshan Namboothiripad early morning. Priests then began chanting the Vedas in four groups inside the temple. Tantri Govindan Namboothiripad, Pradeep Namboothiripad, Saji Namboothiripad, and Padmanabhan Namboothiripad offered special Pushpanjali and Nivedyam to Sree Padmanabhaswamy. The Japam was held from 6 am to 8 am and from 9 am to 11 am. A Jalajapam was held at Padmatheertham from 6:30 pm to 7 pm.
