KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - Sporting KC and Major League Soccer announced dates and matchups for its 2026 season on Thursday.

The final season of the spring-to-fall schedule format features 34 matches, starting Feb. 21 in San Jose and concluding Nov. 7 in San Diego.

An extended break for the league will be held in the summer as the 2026 FIFA World Cup comes to North America. With that break, Sporting KC won’t play a match between May 23 and July 16.

Sporting’s home-opener will come Feb. 28 against Columbus. It’ll be the club’s first-ever home MLS match in February.

All home games for Sporting will be played at 7:30 p.m. CT aside from two nationally-televised games. On Saturday, May 2, Seattle will visit for a game on FOX that kicks off at 1:30 p.m. On Wednesday, Aug. 19, a rivalry match
