KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - One of the top women’s basketball prospects in the country is leaving the metro for her collegiate career.

Addison Bjorn, the No. 10-ranked player in ESPN’s girls’ SC Next 100 Class of 2026, committed to Texas on Thursday during a ceremony at Park Hill South High School.

She chose the Longhorns over Kansas, Notre Dame, Iowa, Duke, UConn and North Carolina. In joining Texas, she becomes their second top 10 prospect in the Class of 2026.

She told KCTV5 in October her top priority in picking a school is relationships.

“I’m gonna be spending the next four years with you, so I better know all you guys,” she said with a laugh. “But not just having that great relationship with the head coach, but also going down to the assistants because they’re gonna be coaching me
